My name is Sam, and I’m a writer and director based in LA.

Originally from New York, I grew up with an obsession for all things performing. I yearned for an audience. Tap dance, voice lessons, improv, writing original music—you name it, I was doing it, probably while wearing something sparkly.

As I got older, I realized that what I loved most was the ability to whisk the audience away from daily life. I love creating spectacles. For me, a spectacle doesn’t just mean a large-scale production or high-budget film (though I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to that!). It’s anything gorgeous and extraordinary, not found in the normal world. I create stories based on truthfulness and important ideas, telling them in a magical and unique way. My favorite director is Tim Burton, which might give you some insight into my creative vision.

After graduating from NYU Tisch in 2021, I’ve had the privilege of working for and being mentored by incredible female directors, including Oscar-winner Ellen Goosenberg Kent, Emmy and BAFTA nominee Julie Anne Robinson, and Emmy nominee Jody Hahn. Their guidance has been crucial in helping me learn the industry, excel on set, and flourish as an independent artist.

I hope we can create something amazing together someday!

Hello! How are you doing?

I know you can’t respond but it felt rude not to ask.
